1) Update your copyright. Make sure the copyright on your website reflects the new year. 2) Update your links. Maybe your site that was created a while back has some outdated links. Check your internal and external links to make sure they are directing users to the right content. 3) Update your content. Revitalize your site by committing to adding new content at least once a month! This makes your target audience keep coming back to your website. And it makes you more visible to Google! When you regularly update your site, Google and other search engine spiders come back to crawl it. This can help bump you up in search engine rankings. 4) Add a sitemap. If you don’t already have a sitemap on your website, get one! This helps Google and other search engines find and index every page on your site.
5) Get bigger, because size matters. Increasing the size of your website may result in increased Google and other search visibility and more traffic. BUT, if there is no new content to add, don’t duplicate your existing content or create fluff. 6) Get with it! Incorporate Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Social Media Marketing (think Twitter and Facebook) for your business.
